I am not so good at this part of engineering, and this instance takes the cake to start with.

Anyone know the best way to find a substitute manufacturer in the United States for this connector:

It is made by Maojwei, the current actual part numbers are 18M-8A and 18M-8E. I have not been successful in finding a distributor in the United States, so I am trying to find a substitute for the connector that is available in the US.

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. As it is a replacement for a connector that broke while in use, it must be a direct replacement. Using something that does not mount identically is not an option. Though, it could be reduced to as little as 3 pins (only 3 of the 8 are in use).

That is on the back of a small Wharfdale mixing desk, the plug in your picture is on the power pack, but I can't find it right now.

Wharfdale is a small electronic music equipment manufacturer here in UK. If it looks like the job you need, I'll pursue it for you tomorrow

It would work if it had the three hole mounting flange as the original. It is starting to bug me now. I know I have seen circular connectors like the original, but I cannot recall who made them. All I can find are 4-hole square-mount circular connectors.

I guess somebody on here will know .. .. I recognised the style immediately because they feature on many pieces of electronic musical equipment;

Interesting, I thought they had long since been an importer of cheap(ish) Chinese gear?.

I used to have contacts there back in the old days - back when they were actually Wharfedale and made loudspeakers and the odd amp or two.

That ends looks fine. How is the connector held to the soldering station? My first thought would be the same as the mixing desk. I need to match the 18M-E listing in terms of the mounting style, size, and method. I have some flexibility in the fact I only need 3 pins and the current connector has 8.

Interestingly I bought a pair of Wharfedale speakers last year - decent speakers at a decent price.

Wharfedale stuff has always been value for money, although I'm out of touch now by nearly 10 years.
We used to populate school recording studios with mostly Wharfedale mixing desks, monitors etc which usually left a reasonable budget for processing. They have/had ? a small manufacturing unit in Huntingdon, right by the A14 and next door to an amplifier manufacturer whose name I can't remember.
