I'm a music teacher so here is my attempt at a question.

Old single phase 220v motor with magnetic start capacitor switch. When magnet is engaged circuit is open. Magnetic switch has places for 2 wires on magnetic coil and 2 on a set of points (look like points from a lawn mower engine) .

There are 2 wires from capacitor, 4 large wires from motor (2 tied together) and 2 small.

It looks like the on/off switch was for 3 phase, but only 2 large wires hooked to the switch while the other 2 were tied off with a wire nut.

How do I wire this thing to get it to work?

Thanks,
