Notch Filter Allows Single Pot Adjustment of Notch Frequency With Little Change In Its High Q Value - Notch filter Q is largely independent of component tolerances and notch frequency adjustment.

In some low frequency signal applications a single frequency interfering noise signal, such as from a 50/60Hz main's frequency, can be a problem and it is desired to suppress it with a notch filter with high attenuation at that frequency.
When using a high-Q notch filter to reject such a specific frequency, it generally is required to tweak the notch frequency due to component tolerances, so that the notch is exactly at the desired frequency.
