hey.
I need to run a motor (220 Vac) from 555 timer.
The quations are:
1. How can I calculate the resisters (180 & 1.2K)?
2. How can I calculate C1?
3. does it metter what ZL I have?
4. Why I need 1.2K resister and C1 components?
and what should I know more about it?

thanks ahead

Zener,

1.In the datasheets you get info on how to calculate the snubber circuit.
2.Same as in 1.
3.Yes ZL is the load and it matters to the triacs rating.
4.In the datasheet for the MOC3011 is a short description of snubbers.
Try to Google for “snubber circuit” and lots of info will come up.

Ante
