The loudness of an alarm is determined by size, frequency and distance. A cheap alarm is small, produces a very high frequency and has its loudness measured very close to it. It won't scare away anything.

The beeper in my smoke detector is 1.625" in diameter and is loud but it produces a very high frequency. It won't scare away an intruder.

Will a little key chain alarm scare away an intruder who is bigger than a mouse?

What do they use in Canada, to scare away the moose and polar bears?

This is what we use in Utah.

Edit: There was a recent upswing in crime Desperate times require Desperate measures.

The only thing you have to do is license, spade, and neuter. Otherwise keep them in ammo and your good to go:)

Criminals in Canada are mostly visiting Americans. They are all in jail.
