NEed HElp in designing a circuit

m new to electronics.. any one plzzz help me in designing circuits... i just need some basic circuits to clear my concept....

i need a circuit diagram of a flip/flop LED starts one by one... and need some explanation on also.... plzz ...but it must contain only transistors resistors capacitors not the IC...
