Hi,

how can I generate PWM signals (w/o a microcontroller if possible) from a variable dc signal (0-5v) to drive an H-Bridge?

Is there a IC that I can buy that will do it?

I recently used a TL494 for the same purpose, it was a pyrography pen for the mrs.
The SG3525 I think is a modern version of the TL494.
I'll dig up the '494 schematic if you want to go with that.

This is a very popular IC which is almost always used.

Or here is one using a comparator.
