I have been working on a boost converter to convert 3.7V to 5V supply. I have been using a MCP1640 for the same. But recently I came across a new chip from Aerosemi (maybe that is not new, but I came across it recently). It is MT3608. The datasheet is not that great and does not claim a tested product. The advantage of this chip is that it claims to be able to supply greater current (2A and the efficiency is 92%).
Has anybody used it and if not can anybody please see the datasheet and check whether this would be a better product as a USB power supply than a MCP1640?
It does look like the MT3608 would give roughly twice as much output current than the MCP1640, but why use either when you can have the real deal. For example off the top of my head: https://datasheets.maximintegrated.com/en/ds/MAX8969.pdf
There would probably be a dozen chips as good or better
