motorola mc micro programming

Hi,
ive just built an interface cable for this radio and have got it to partially read, but when it gets to record 9, it stops and says ''error: type eva sp ? 0633''
has anybody got any ideas?

Hi,
ok the diagram is from McMicro im using a 233mhz laptop running 98 and the cable is connected to the laptop via serial 9 pin.

Is the laptop a Pentium? Does it have USB ports or a true RS232 port?
You need quite a slow PC and running MSDOS. In the past I used an old 286 and it worked fine. However you may have problems with the fast Pentium's etc.....
Your laptop is probably too modern. Most serial port programmers are notoriously unreliable on modern PCs.

Motorola software requires a slow computer to run.
