I would suggest that you lay both datasheets side by side, read em and note the differences. Also I seem to remember that Microchip had a ref document on migrating from early parts too, so that might be worth a read. Pay particular attention to the way the peripherals are controlled, multiple port pin functions, config word construction, memory mapping, indirect memory access etc
