Hi,

I got this equation (T1^2 + 7T1 - 2) / (8 + 4T1 + T1^2)
How do i solve the T1?
Can i use 8 + 4T1 + T1^2 = T1^2 + 7T1 -2?
Then 8+2 +4T1 -7T1 + T1^2 - T1^2?
I tried this, but i cant get the right ans

That's not an equation.

Hi Roff,

Thanks! I typed wrongly.
The equation should be :
tan(kl) = [4 + (2T1)^2 / [2T1^2 + 7T1 - 2]
How should i solve?
Please advise. Thanks.

What is kl? Don't you have one equation and 2 unknowns? That can't be solved.

k is a constant which is 2pi/wavelength and L is the length
The answer for T1 = 5.1623 and -1.1623, how do i get these values?
Please advise. Thanks.
