A four pin SMD item is used in tuner, probably as a Low Noise Amplifier. It is marked GT.
Can anyone give a clue how to find a datasheet?
And can anyone suggest a way of testing it?

Hard to tell from the picture. Are there any schematics for the tuner?
As for testing:
Out of circuit use an ohm meter or just replace the suspected part.
