Looking for a CPU

Yes, I've seen some examples for Keil ARM IDE, and it seems much easier than setting the GNU toolchain. I might take a look in my free times, and carry on with pics for the moment, as I already have tools, software and programmer.

What I don't really know if KEIL IDE is just a GNU GCC wrapper or not.

These forums have lots of PIC users, lots of information. The Web is full of PIC information, check my site for links.

Yes, it is.
I think they all are... but they do hide a lot of the complexities, and make it a lot easier to set up. They also hide the complexities of makefiles =)
