I have built a tracker once and found out that the best way was to put the LDR:s in PVC tubes. The tubes were just slightly bigger than the LDR and about 80mm in length painted soft black inside. The pipes were then mounted in “V” shape with a possibility to adjust the “V”. Two sets of these where used for horizontal and height tracking. A timer was used to “reset” the system when it was dark e.g. (returned to east with low elevation).
