LEDs for vehicle?

I tried testing 1 of them with a 560ohms resistor on a 9V battery, initially able to light up properly and bright enough, but after awhile, the LEDs just blown off.

Cheers!

With that combination you probably were not drawing more than 10 to 12 uA of current, which would not blow the LED. Are you sure of the resistor's value?

10-12:mu:A?

Don't you mean mA?

I calculate between 4mA to 13mA depending on the voltage drop of the LED and how fresh the battery is.

for cars, you must calculate 2 cases, minim voltage (12,6V) and maximum voltage (14,5V), curent max. 20mA (minim recomandated is 7mA) and tension at LED's depend by..colour
- red: 2V
- yellow/orange: 2,2V
- green: 3,3V
- white/blue: 3,5

some example with group of LEDs for use at cars can see at end of **broken link removed** (rosu=red, galben=yellow, portocaliu=orange, verde=green, alb=white, albastru=blue)

- green: 3,3V
Be careful with green, yellowish green tends to be a slightly lower voltage than bluish green or pure green.
