Hi, I'm just starting to program with PICs, and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to find helping in doing specific things with my PIC, namely, storing data collected, say storing a series of numbers which represent, say the position of a pot. at 1/2 second intervals, and secondly, doing that same data storage on an external memory source, say a Compact Flash card.

Thanks a lot for any help

Reading a pot is a A/D conversion wich is, just like interfacing a compactflash, not really something to begin with. Try doing simpler digital things to begin with before going to the complicated stuff.

You'll find lots of projects on the net to get you started.
