what are the basic operation for ldr? which type of light ldr can absorbed? how do find ldr is wored or not?

LDR can simply be tested connecting Mutimeter in Ohms range and showing to light and blocking it from light
I presume that it wont have fast response,
so it would work for light activated or dark activated switches.
For other details, perhaps it would be better to take and study a data sheet. it can be downloaded here
