I think its a transistor, but not sure
part is manufactured by STmicro,..

sorry folks (sheepish grin)...

other number : IRF740 ID's as a pwr N-ch MOSFET...

as there is a pair,...why would these be used in pwrd spkrs,...and should I replace both
as only one is gone ,...along with a 1M .5W resistor?,, bias I think
