Is it AM or FM?

Hi Friends,
Does it make any sense to ask which technology, Frequency, or Amplitude Modulation is used at the 27MHz frequency? This is for a cheap radio control toy. Maybe there is no "signal wave" added to the carrier wave for this simple toy, and it simply just uses a burst of noise?

Those are usually CB channel 14, so AM. If you have a scanner or CB radio, maybe you can hear the control signals.

Yep, they're AM with a simple PWM/TDM channel control.
It might sound like noise, but the signal is structured. You can see the waveform on most CRO's.

These units aren't restricted to any specific kind of modulation and some 27MHz systems do use FM rather than AM.
Or rather they use FSK vs ASK or OOK.
