Hi Ive added my schematic for an FM voice IR transmitter. Im concerned with whether the output from the 555 can provide enough drive current for the IR LED. Is the 555 output sufficient??? - it needs to work for a 10m range.

Can anyone tell me how I can simply create/add a low duty cycle, higher current LED drive for my circuit???

Thanks for any help

The current output of the CMOS version is less but still enough to overdrive the LED. You should have a resistor in series.
