ir computer communication

ok, i want to know if this is possible.
my cell phone has got an IR port on it, but i don't have an IR port on the coputer.
does anybody have a circuit for that?
i was tinking about the serial port.

I made the ir module, it works perfect. I'ts connected to the Irda port on the mainboard. It only has 5 components and it costed me only 7€, and the commercial ones are around 50€ And the total size onf the pbc is under 2x2 cm (the one i made)

i agree, simple circuit....
but my mainobard doesn't have irda connector on it.........
so i thought of using the serial port, com1.
