That depends on the phone mostly. Does the phone support sending SMS in that manner? What is the protocol being used by the phone to transmit and receive data? If the phone uses RS232 just about any PIC with a UART can be used. You could even code your own software UART. We need more information to be able to help you.
well Amila if you just need to send a sms, and you are not considering about the mobile phone model, you can simply get this done using the FBUS protocol. Only thing is you have to have a phone which supports FBUS. There are plenty of low cost ones u can find. Just google FBUS..
