No websites are comming to mind but there are a couple free magazines that I would recomend. EDN is great for general info and circuit ideas. ECN is a good way to find out about the latest product.
If you have a little money you should get a subscription to Circuit Cellar. Its a great magazine dedicated to engineering hobby projects.
Most semiconductor companies have an email newsletter that can be useful.
An extremely popular site more focused on the latest in computers and software would be https://slashdot.org/ , not to sure about all around technology.
