induction furnace

i am designing induction furnace
i am trying it by making a rectifier which converts ac mains into dc supply and then converting back the dc power of that supply into ac with high frequency which is required in induction heating.
am i going right? or is there any other easier technique?

make your inductor so it operates at 60hz, so you can go right to the mains,

everyone here tells me that induction heating is not any more efficient than conventional methods though.

maybe drill small parallel holes in your core, to flow the air through, may help heat transfer. Im just guessing though.
