IDE drive interface USB

I've recently interface an IDE drive through my printer port (check the project out at geocities.com//caro690 ). Now I'm thinking of interfacing the IDE drive through a USB. Does any PIC controller has a USB interface? Any suggest how I could do this with maximum access speed.

The 16C745 has USB, but it's only USB 1.0 (as far as I'm aware) - but why reinvent the wheel - there are plenty of cheap USB/IDE adaptors available.
