I want to make a CRT with some modifications But i have no Idea where to start

I have found this 1979 portend crt tv. and want to bring it back to life (and possible replace the BW CRT with a colors CRT) and i have no idea where to begin. I'm pretty sure ill have to remake the circuit board(I don't even even knower where to start learn where the computes needed to map it out)

the modifications i want(i can modify the tv box if need be)

1-IS it posable to Bluetooth to something and have it display on the CRT display
2-Im going to put and old homephone on the side (this is mostly just a prop that i want to control when it rings)
3-and Possibly add VCR to it

in all honesty i don know where to even began

And if its just better to get a display screen instead of CRT then let me know

By your clear projection description I'm surprised you don't know where to begin. It seems like you have it all planned out.

This is exactly what you should be looking for when you want to rehab old electronics...

Those layers of oily gunk filled with dust so it really encrusts solidly in the PCBs really preserves the components mounted somewhere under there.

I hope the wire insulation firmed up over the years and really set in place. The experts call it "friable" when it turns to powder or starts shattering as you bend it.

That's a real nice piece. I see you have one of those yellow metal cabinets. I'm sure you could find something in there to solve all of your problems with this project - of course, you'll also need a match.

well i get a soldering tool tomorrow and the metal case is flame proof for to get my other stuff safe.

so are u suggesting that I clean the board up more I know there's probably a couple of things i need to replace like the circuit board on the back of the tube

Also to let you know this would be my first time really messing with circuits

no, I was suggesting you pull a bottle out of the yellow cabinet, find a safe section of concrete driveway, pour your flammable solvent over the "project", throw a match on it and walk away. That TV looks like it was stored in a barn or a greasy fast food kitchen. It's a mess. Go to a recycling center and find something cleaner once you learn a bit about electronics.

Also half of learning electronics is learning what can be done. The other half is learning what can't be done (or shouldn't be done).

There are many better ways to learn electronics. This isn't a starting point.
