how to reduce ceiling fan current consumption

Install a switch and turn it to the off position. That will reduce the power consumption.
 
Reducing the RPM of the fan will likely reduce the power consumption. How you do that electronically, depends on the type of fan motor.

You might also shorten the blades keeping balance in mind.
 
if the fan has a separate switch on the wall you can use a dimmer switch. but the fan should have its own speed control. if not then you can just add a high watt resistor in series with the fan. Btw i only joined this forum to answer that question. :p
