how to create 500Hz frequency of CONTINUOUS square wave signal...

FRIENDS.. i need to create 500Hz CONTINUOUS square wave signal.. which circuit is used to achieve this... better i need new technology or new ic..... other than 555, 741 and all....

Connect pin12 to ground.
