Hello, I am looking for assistance in building a high voltage rectifier/regulator/smoother for voltages in the 240 volt DC range. I have purchased a 5000 watt variable transformer, and 63 - 1000 uF electrolytic capacitors. I will have to purchase some high-voltage diodes to build the bridge-wave rectifier, and also figure out how to build or purchase a regulator with zeners. Input to the variable transformer is 120 volts from the wall, so maximum input current is 20-30 amps.

Does anybody have any plans or suggestions?

Are you starting with 120VAC or 240VAC?
You can not get 30 amps from a regular wall outlet.
Why do you need such a high DC voltage?

he jon
I see where you are going
I build a 2250 v dc power supply with relative easy parts
here is the schematics for it
