How I can connect this ribbon ?

Hello, the ribbon holder was cracked and broken, now I dont know how I can hold it there...
Anyone can suggest some option?
Or should I just buy new connector replacement?
Where to buy that? How it is called?

Or replace the whole connector with one..

Farnells don't appear to sell that exact make & type of connector.
You cannot buy separate parts, only complete sockets.

You can get the same ones on ebay, eg.

Double check that yours is 0.5mm pitch - the only connectors with similar appearance all are, but still verify it.
Also the the cable/plug fits with the contacts on top?

There are styles of this generic type that can have contacts on top or underneath the flex plug..

The contacts are just on one side, the other side is black foil.

At the top (away from the man PCB) or at the bottom (closest to the main PCB) when fitted in the socket??????

There are two different types of socket.

And, have you confirmed it is 0.5mm connection pitch? That was just a guess.

I dont understand im not an expert..
also I dont know how i can measure that small size half of milimeter.. but I think its 0.5, maybe even less , can you just give me link to all posibilitties so I can order one from each and try it?

There are thousands of types that could be a suitable one, without knowing the exact details.

From the video, it has bottom contacts; that halves the possible types.

The "plug" part is also a relatively thick circuit board, rather than a paper-thin flex cable end - that is quite rare and most common types (like in your links) would not take it.

To measure the pitch, put a ruler across the plug and see if alternate contacts line up exactly with millimetre marks, over the full length - so 2.5mm centres over the outer two?

I cannot find that exact type anywhere from the big distributers.

The little "extension board" with two of what appear to be the exact same connector is readily available from multiple sources - just get that from whichever place suits you best.

It's definitely not the exact same connector; the latch is at the opposite side to the cable entry and the surface mount solder points are under the body, rather than exposed at the back.

The original looks to be a "drawer" style latch, that has a straight pull-push action, rather than a lift-up type.

That appears to be the same as your original one!

Looking at the various photos on that page, it does look to have a hinge-up style latch rather than a slide style one; none of the other photos I found showed one "open", the way that does.
