Just a comment - some radios are such that the addition of an antenna can create more problems than it solves. The addition of an antenna results in higher levels of RF energy at the antenna terminals. A strong station that is not on the frequency of interest can profoundly impact the performance of the radio. This "strong station" could be another FM station, a nearby pager system or other out-of-band transmitter. Unless I am mistaken no harm is likely to result - it's just something to be aware of when giving this a try.
