how can i get this kit to display a random number

i need this kit to display a random number at the press of a button. how can i do it.

Randomizing

This circuit runs from a 5v supply ...
You need to either generate a 5v clock signal that is too fast for the counter, thus making reliable predictions impossible,
Or (is this a single digit count?) simply use a clock that is fast enough to overflow the counter several times in a single button-press (1kHz?).

so i guess i could use a 555 timer putting out a high pulse, is this correct
