I'v recently been looking at a light seeking robot that runs off of a op amp and two photoresistors , would it be possible to make a tracker for a rf homeing beacon using the same principals of the opamp by replaceing the photosensors with 2 LC antenna tuners?

Not unless you use very short wavelengths, i.e. 2.4GHz or higher. Then you will need an electronically switched antenna, a complete AM receiver, followed by a synchronous detector, a low pass filter, and finally a servo amplifier.
