help with CAN system???

hi,

ive got a few questions about CAN systems used on motorcycles.
as i understand it each sensor or ecu feeds into a ADC and a CAN controller where messages are prioritised and sent out to all nodes on the network through a twisted pair. i dont understand and need help on,
can high and can low
diagnosing faults
error codes
how the messages are prioritised
any help would be greatly appreciated as i need to have a good understanding of CAN systems
