Hi all, I'm new to this site and in fact pretty new to electronics as well, so I hope you will excuse my small knowledge base in these matters and please excuse my English as well, since it is not my mother language and I'm stepping into a specialists field witch may contain specialists words and I may not be aware of their existence.
So I may try and explain things in weird manners that have a simple 5 letter word for it.

Disclaimer: If you read beyond this sentence you have waved your rights to complain about grammar errors or complicated explanations for things that are simple and have a word for it in the specific field of electronics that may or may not be common for the common man not involved in electronic components in his or hers everyday life.

Well, first off, I only know what I want and what I am looking for but I have no idea how to make it possible, or if it is possible at all, so I'm going to describe what I need and what I need it for and hope there are some solutions available.

The project is a body worn spy camera, the camera itself is not the problem here, it is the video recorder or transmitter that comes with these kits that is too big.
I searched the Internet high and low, looked through all possible places and no one seems to have what I need, most likely cause no one ever though one would need such a thing.

The camera and the equipment (if it is a recording device or a transmitter) will be built in custom made clothes.

The purpose of the equipment is to catch police misconduct and violence on video, by placing the equipment on people who have to deal with the police on regular basis, and to use such evidence as pressure to start an internal affairs division within the police, or better yet, independent internal affairs division.

Only a fraction of police brutality is done in public, it is almost in all cases done inside the police station or in police cars, vans in particular - where people are beat up and left off somewhere.

The problem with the standard bodyworn equipment is the size of the thing. It comes with a LCD display screen to view playback and the battery packs are way to big.
The transmitter unit is also to big and way to weak.
If these things are discovered they would be confiscated, and perhaps, destroyed, specially if there would have been a case of violence and the subject taken into custody.

The equipment may not be found if the subject is taken into custody, and if possible, the equipment staying on the person while in custody, and in interrogation.

I am thinking the equipment with two cameras, one in color and one in black and white, and a microphone.
The battery pack has to be thin, long lasting and light.
The recorder has to be very small, perhaps a chip that could be removed from the clothes and perhaps placed into a USB key and the files uploaded into a computer.
On/Off switch.
Not easily detected, almost undetectable to the untrained eye if correctly built in clothes.

Any pointers, suggestions, help, anything at all very well accepted.
If you could point me to a gadget garage that custom builds equipment for it's costumers, or if you do so yourself or know anybody please help me out.

Thanks for reading.

Forget about it! What you have described would be virtually impossible to build and would most certainly be discovered if a person was arrested and searched at booking. Anything like what you are suggesting could be dangerous to police officers and other prisoners (could be used as a weapon or to cause harm).
Apparently you are suggesting someone (the wearer of these custom clothes) violate some law just to get arrested and possibly be the subject of police misconduct or violence. :(

Have to agree with the troll, they take most everything when you get put in the holding cell. Once booked, they take everything else, except your glasses and false teeth. Almost zero chance of smuggling in anything. Have also heard of rectal examine, but not sure if that's common or done by the jail staff...

I don't think the police are generally overly aggressive. Seems kind of rare, and generally the suspect would have gotten worse from the victim's family or friends. If you don't doing anything shady, you shouldn't have to worry. If you do get involved with the police, be respectful of the badge and follow instructions. Beyond that, I figure a suspects deserves what they get. If somebody spit in your face, wouldn't you feel the right to remove a few teeth? You get hit or kicked, shouldn't you be allowed to return or defend? Those claiming brutality, usually provoke it, the only point is whether the officer did more damage than he was entitled to in the situation, basically did the suspect need costly hospital treatment...

I think the system has gotten too soft, it's not scary or too unpleasant. Sit around all day wait to be served three hot meals, watching cable TV (adult channels, not the educational ones), playing cards, and drinking coffee (although instant is kind of cruel).

It should be the bare minimal requirements, like farmed animals in a cage. People should leave feeling they were lucky to have survived, and a deeper appreciation of life outside the bars. Even if it just for something minor, or just a bad choice of friends, a few days would be a lasting influence.

You got it wrong, I would never suggest to anybody to go and break the law just to get arrested and try and hope to catch something on video. That is first and foremost illegal and I could get in trouble. The issue I'm having is that certain members of the police pick on certain member of the society. Yes, some of these people have been in trouble before, some used or even use illegal drugs. Some of them are randomly picked up from the streets and arrested for nothing, and some times they are arrested just to get beat up, then thrown out of the car, never getting to booking, so, in the system, never arrested.
There were massive protests here where I'm from few months ago, and people, even young girls, that were at the protests got beat up, they were put in handcuffs and thrown in the back of a police van, the van drove off and the beating started, then they were thrown out. In the system, they were never arrested.
I do not understand how you got it out that this could be dangerous for officers and other prisoners. What kind of weapon are you talking about? If you mean this could be dangerous for crooked cops because their misdoings could be caught on tape then yes, that is the whole point of the thing.

You're not a member of a police force looking for someone to take the bait, are you?
I am certainly not a member of a police force looking for someone to take a bait. I did not register here expecting to find an honest cop who doesn't like when his mates beat the living crap out of someone.

How about a recorder crammed up the persons ass...just about the only way you'll get this job done.
Thank you for your input. At least now I know the only recorders are at the size of portable DVD players.
