Can anybody help me with regarding what are the parts needed to assemble a gadget like this.

Distance coverage from 0 - about 10m

Can detect up to 5 passive tags

10 Q

30 feet range to detect passive RFID tags? I'm not sure that's possible? Reading passive tags is usually extremely range limited because the RF signal is supplying power not just information.

Thank u. Would then a 2m range would be feasible?

A handheld receiver that can detect 5 tags one at a time and not all together in one shot. Can this be possibly be constructed?

From scratch? Not easily, for RFID stuff you generally go with commercial products, there are many out there. If you don't know much about electronics this is not a recommend project to start with.
