hi all
I'm a beginner at this subject so i need your help to build heating Circuit that provide me as much heat as car lighter or as twice using a 12v batteries
and I don't know what's the risks of that and how it can be made and what should i use if it's possible to be built
p.s: if you pls make it as much simple as you can so i can understand
A heater is simply a low value resistor. If its size is small then it heats the air only a little but it heats itself a lot. Look at the heating wire in a toaster or in an electric heater, they are RED HOT! the risks are A FIRE of something nearby.
Usually a wire called NICHROME is used in a heater.
I suggest you start by doing some research to find out how much power a car cigarette lighter uses. Then you need to research resistance (nichrome) wire specs and locate a supplier.
Batteries can blow up if mistreated (e.g. with excessive current flow or over-charging).
You also need to consider how you will support your heating element so that adjacent materials don't get too hot and suffer damage or ignite.
A battery that is too small can heat about half as much as the heater. A Lithium battery can blow up if its current is too high.
A lady gave a speech to a crowd with a wireless microphone. She had a spare 9V battery in her pocket and there were also some coins there.
She began to jump up and down because the coins shorted the spare battery and the battery was burning her leg.
I asked Google to Convert 120W into BTUs and the answer is 4092 BTU/hr.
A pretty big car battery can provide 120W for about 8 hours.
AA Ni-MH battery cells can provide 120W for about 5 seconds but only if they are high quality and are brand new.
Make it with the battery, a switch and the heater.
