Having diffilculties testing trasistor with SANWA YX360TRF multitester

I have this tester. Im having a difficulties testing unknown transistor particularly
identifying the collector and emiter.It is written on the book that after you find the base set the tester range to 10K ohms then find which base/terminal 1? base/terminal 2? then you can identify the collector and emiter. The problem is this model (SANWA YX360TRF) have no 10K range and 1K range is its maximum.What other alternative thing i can do here? thnaks in advance
 
All that's needed to test a transitor is a multimeter in diode test mode.
