Hi,

I posted a help post ( see help component idea) and was wondering what a Hall EFfect sensor does ? Does it do the same thing that I want ?

Thanks in advance.

it might,
but magnets tend to lose their magnetism if you
knock them about.

you might use a hall effect sensor with a coil on
the move-able part.

Depends on your set-up.
