Getting started

Hi,

I'm 19 years old and I wish to get started with robotics.
I wish to start with a simple wired car and then make it wireless and then move forward.

As of now I know only a few things that common sense can dictate like I'd need batteries, at least a couple of motors and a set of wheels etc
But I have no idea how I'd build a chassis.

Also, I have no idea how to actually get started
So I can anyone suggest me how to actually get started ?
Is there any online page or tutorial for that sort of a thing ?
