As a guess, the timer can delay connecting outputs to speakers until some DC sensing or DC offset is measured/stabilized, or thermal/protection tripping occurred.

Hello ,
Please help me out with this: In some audio amplifying circuits, 555 has been added, so what is the function of 555 there??? what has the oscillation to do with the amplified audio ??
Thanks

Can you provide a schematic or link to an example?
