If you own a laptop and a wifi card then you can get service for free, in some cases it may even be legal :)

There's a pub near where I work, it has free WiFi - directly opposite is a supermarket with a car park on the roof - you can sit in the car park with your laptop and surf the net for free! :D

Ask if you could build a passive Cantenna amp, then direct the other Cantenna towards your house...THEN youd have free net...You could always Split the bill with someone else and build a cantenna on their house..

The question with cantenna is would the internet be any better than your dial up?

Yea. Just hook it up to the router which shares the network with wired comps. Theoretically, you should be able to get 802.11 b/g speeds.
