pebe, fair's fair - I think that comment was unwarranted... After all, it's not about how simple or complex it is, but about who drew it up, even if it's not a new idea. I don't think ANYBODY could claim to be the original designer of such a circuit.
 
Perhaps I was a bit brusque - but my sentiments haven't changed.

Have another look at the circuit. It is a simple bi-phase power supply as found in thousands of circuits. It has no mains fuse and no regulation of any sort - not even a current limiting resistor. Depending on the make, design, and source impedance of transformer, the charging current will be unknown. I certainly wouldn't like to put it forward as a battery charger.

So I was not a little surprised when navman asked for a credit if the circuit was published.
