I was wondering what the exact term is for the figure 8 style AC plugs that are seen on many electrical appliances? I would like the part that the plug in the link below would plug into.. So basically the part that is kept in the electrical appliance. I am creating something that I want to add the option for AC power, and I thought that one of these chords would be the easiest to use..

Hopefully I've explained myself clearly and it's not a mess of a question..

Thanks

Here is a catalog page: **broken link removed**

Basically they are generically called Power entry connectors or modules"

The variety that you are interested in is for low current applications. The do come in polarized versions too.

Thank you very much!

I'm going to use it for LED lighting, so it will be low power. The power supply has an output of 300mA at 12V, so the input AC should be fine.. I assume..
