They both seem to be very specialised IC's, I wouldn't expect any local stores to keep them - assuming you're wanting to make a remote control system, why not make your own with a couple of PIC's?.

it must be a damn easy script but I have not done it before. I tried to start with AVR but could not find a cheap way to program them... ATiny2313 or so... let it be... thanks any way
Maybe you could salvage a decoder IC from a junky VCR ? Also if you do a search on decoder IC at www.digikey.com you will find some decoder chips in stock.

Pity you're not in the UK...I have a few that have been salvaged. Dunno whether they are still good, so the link may be a better option considering international post charges.
