Hi everyone,

I'm new here and I have a electronic question for you.

I want to install an high sensibility electret microphone with an hi-pass filter +/- 200 hz to focus on vocal without earing low frequency.

My problem is that this kind of filter block DC too. How can I by-pass this and still have DC.

Thanks !

I looked in Google and found that if your highpass filter has a cutoff frequency of 200Hz then it will not pass adult male voices: "The voiced speech of a typical adult male will have a fundamental frequency from 85 to 180 Hz". My voice averages 90Hz when I talk.

What causes the low frequencies that you want to block? Earthquakes?

Why do you need DC? The Jfet in the electret mic is powered through a series 10k resistor from +9V then the audio is passed to the preamp though a series coupling capacitor to block the DC.
Please post your schematic.
