i did that ..ok but it keeps putting them back..evandude said:when there are plus signs... it means you can select and move the text independently of the part... meaning you can either move them somewhere else, or delete them just as you would a part...

or you could always set the names/values layers to be not viewable, then you won't see any of them at all

I seriously needed to delete them off of the board itself, the component density was high enough that every name overlapped and many were unreadable. If I recall correctly I could delete one of the tags, but deleting both the name and value causes them to both reappear.
Bad, bad annoying feature.
