Dvr with event timer to replace VCR use memory stick or sd card

Hello
Is there a DVR that has event timer that use usb memory stick or sd card to save what is recorded?
Since most companys are not making VCR anymore.
Maybe there dvr that can do same thing as vcr ,since VCR are out date equipment.

There are plenty of digital receivers that give a crude PVR type function and record to a USB or SD drive, but you don't make it very clear what you want to do?.

You mention 'D'VR - D means digital, and they only record direct digital data from digital transmissions, they won't record analogue or any external signals.
 
We don't even know where your location or what type TV system your using. DRM (Digital Rights Management) will generally mess things up. The "cable card" option has basically died.

Looking for DVR when connect a C-Band receiver can record what come out the c-band receiver ,like connecting a c-band receiver to VCR,since vcr are not been made anymore,need DVR to do recording.
