dsPIC based sound recorder and playback

hi all,

I am developing a software (C code) based on the dsPIC30 series microcontroller, but I am stuck and I dont know how to make a start...

The system should be able to record human voice and store it on an external sd card and play it back.

if anyone has a useful site to visit or any other source which can be used as guideline I would appreciate it.
