Dragon innovation

Hi all:

have a lot of claims about taking hardware/gadget designs to market etc.

To me, there seems to be a large risk of them revamping ideas and gadgets and getting away with it as their own product.

Are there any testimonials or other info that the forum may have encountered?

I do need some help in the area they claim to service.

In general, handing over your design/invention to any organisation/company to develop it carries risks. If it promises to make money the temptation will be there for someone to steal your intellectual property (IP). It may help to write a full technical-disclosure document and lodge that in a sealed envelope with a trusted third party (e.g. bank, lawyer) at a verifiable date, so that you have proof of ownership of the IP. Even that won't stop a well-financed dishonest entity from blatantly stealing the IP and challenging you to take them to court (which could be VERY expensive for you).

That is the risk with these 'invention' assistance companies. Their terms don't seem to mention IP protection for the customer.

Kickstarter doesn't work with entries from my territory nor offer the eng & manuf. services either.

I think they are similar to venture capitalists. They make money by getting you money, not by making your products. They may also take an equity position. If so your on the same side. The problem as I see it is that your idea is exposed to the general public, so if there is no barrier to entry anyone could pick up on it.

Theres a tv progrma here in the uk called dragons den, which is a similar thing only tv orientated.
Maybe its the same crew, or someone riding on the back of it.
I'm glad I dont do stuff like that anymore, it would be more than a little frustrating for someone to steal your ideas and make money from it.

We have the same in Canada. I watched it couple times. The "dragons" looked like crooks to me - they only support businesses which are already going well even without them and they impose draconian conditions.

Thats the way for these people, and why I said I want no part of it.
If you have a good idea and work on it you desrve the credit and cash, not some geyser driving a bentley.
